DTC P0703: Brake Switch Sense Circuit: Description

Circuit is monitored with engine running. PCM expects brake switch sense signal to be high for 16 cycles while it monitors brake switch signal during acceleration and deceleration modes. After vehicle speed increases, PCM must accumulate 6 seconds while delta throttle voltage is more than .2 volt. The count is reset to zero whenever brake switch indicates a low signal. Possible causes are: fused battery voltage circuit open or shorted to ground, brake switch sense circuit open or shorted, ground circuit open, defective brakelight switch or defective PCM.
