Engine Coolant Specifications: PONTIAC: Thermostat

NOTE: Several types of thermostats are being used due to different coolant flow patterns. Turbocharged models use a 2-stage thermostat for coolant circulation. Be sure to use correct part number when replacing.

Some altitude models use a 180°F thermostat. All other models use a 195°F thermostat that starts to open at 192-199°F, and is fully open at 222°F.
