Computers and Control Systems: Adjustments

Refer to ``Tune Up Specifications'' for curb and fast idle speeds. Adjustments are performed with transmission in neutral or park unless otherwise noted.

IDLE SPEED, ADJUST
1. Remove air cleaner and connect a suitable tachometer to engine.
2. Install tool No. BT-8528A or equivalent into passage of throttle, ensuring tool seats fully and there are no air leaks.
3. Adjust throttle stop screw (with #20 torx bit) until idle speed is reads 525 - 575 RPM on models with automatic transaxle or 575 - 625 RPM in neutral on models with manual transaxle.
4. After adjusting, stop engine and remove tool from throttle body. Use a silicone sealant to cover throttle body screw.
