Ignition Coil Testing
- Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between B+ terminal and base of ignition coil. See Fig 1
. Reading should be high or infinite (open circuit). If resistance is not high or infinite, replace ignition coil.
- Check continuity between B+ and C- terminals. Reading should be low or zero (continuity). If reading is not low or zero, replace coil.
- Check continuity between C+ terminal and coil secondary terminal. If reading is infinite (open circuit), replace coil.
