Battery Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (2) from the negative (-) battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the positive battery cable (5) from the positive (+) battery terminal.
3. Remove one bolt and the hold down bracket (4) from the battery carrier.
4. Remove the battery from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the battery into the vehicle. Position the battery into the carrier.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the battery hold down bracket (4) to the carrier. Secure the bracket with one bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the battery hold down bracket bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

3. Connect the positive (+) battery cable (5) to the positive (+) battery terminal.

Connect the negative (-) battery cable (2) to the negative (-) battery terminal.

Tighten
Tighten the positive and negative battery cables to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
