Fuel Pressure Regulator: Installation

  1. Install the small "O" ring and then the large "O" ring into the fuel rail. Lubricate the "O" rings with clean engine oil before installation.
  2. Install the fuel pressure regulator taking care not to disturb the "O" rings.
  3. Install the fuel pressure regulator retaining bolt. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
  5. Inspect for leaks by using the following procedure.
    • Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
    • Turn ignition switch to OFF position for 10 seconds.
    • Turn ignition switch to RUN position, with the engine OFF.
    • Check for fuel leaks.
