Fuel Level Sensor: Removal

NOTE:
Numbers in parenthesis correspond to numbered components in referenced illustrations.
- Fuel level sensor is located in fuel tank and is integral with fuel sender assembly. Remove the fuel sender assembly. See FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY under FUEL SYSTEMS.
- Remove the fuel pump and fuel level sensor harness retaining clip at the top of the fuel sender assembly.
- Disconnect the fuel pump and fuel level sensor harness connector.
- Depress the 3 tabs (1) securing upper fuel reservoir and slide upward until free of lower reservoir (2). See Fig 1 .
- Depress the tab on the fuel level sensor (1) while sliding up and out of the housing. See Fig 2 .
- Remove the retaining clip from the harness connector.
- Remove the fuel level sensor wires from the connector, taking care to note the location of the wires.
