Diagnostic System Check

- Did you review DESCRIPTION & OPERATION? If so, go to next step. If not, go to DESCRIPTION & OPERATION then, go to next step.
- Install a scan tool. Does the scan tool power up? If so, go to step 4. If not see SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Access the Class 2 Power Mode in the Diagnostic Circuit Check on the scan tool. Rotate the ignition switch through all positions while observing the ignition switch power mode parameter. Does the ignition switch parameter reading match the ignition switch position for all switch positions? If so go to next step. If not see TEST C: POWER MODE MISMATCH under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AURORA article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Attempt to establish communication with the following control modules:
- Driver Door Module
- Powertrain Control Module
- Instrument Panel Module
- Dash Integration Module
- Select the display DTCs function on the scan tool for the following control modules:
- Driver Door Module
- Powertrain Control Module
- Instrument Panel Module
- Dash Integration Module
- Does the scan tool display any DTCs which begin with a "U"? If so, see Scan Tool does not communicate with class 2 device in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If not, go to next step.
- Does the scan tool display DTC B10XX, except B1000? If so, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX . If not, go to next step
- Does the scan tool display DTC B1327? If so, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table. If not, go to next step.
- Does the scan tool display any DTCs which are not associated with the HVAC system? If so, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS under BODY CONTROL MODULES in COMMUNICATION DEVICES. If not, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITION table.
NOTE:
The engine may start during the following step. Turn OFF the engine as soon as you have observed the Crank power mode.
