Removal Procedure
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Access the crankshaft position sensor.
- For front-wheel drive vehicles, remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheel.
- For all-wheel-drive vehicles, disconnect the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold and reposition.
- Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the attaching bolt and/or screw.
- Remove the sensor from the engine.
- Inspect for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
