Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the radio to the I/P.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the radio.
- Connect the radio antenna cable to the radio.
- Position the radio rear alignment locator (1) into the I/P substrate.
- Install the 3 screws that retain the radio to the I/P.
Tighten: Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (GMC)Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile/Buick) or Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (GMC)Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile/Buick) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Install the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Lower (GMC/Chevrolet) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Install the center console shift lever bezel (Oldsmobile only). Refer to Console Shift Lever Bezel Replacement (Oldsmobile, Buick) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Perform the radio setup - if equipped with UM8, refer to Radio Setup (With RPO UM8) . Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in Programming for all other audio system configurations for setup.
