Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the theft deterrent control module (2) onto the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1).
  2. CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Coil Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Connect the connector to the theft deterrent control module.
  4. If necessary, connect the connector to the ignition lock cylinder case.
  5. Install the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  6. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
  8. Program the theft deterrent control module. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components .
