Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Do not remove the headliner.
  1. Lower the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) , Headliner Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) or Headliner Replacement (Envoy XUV) in Interior Trim.
  2. Fig 1: Accessing Sunroof Assembly Electrical Connector

  3. Disconnect the sunroof harness electrical connector.
  4. IMPORTANT: Do not remove the drain hoses.
  5. Disconnect the drain hoses from the sunroof assembly. Refer to the following procedures:

  7. Support the sunroof with an assistant.
  8. Remove the bolts that retain the sunroof module assembly to the roof panel
  9. Remove the sunroof module assembly from the vehicle and place on a clean, prepared surface with an assistant.
  10. Remove the sunroof motor/actuator from the sunroof module assembly. Refer to Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement (Old Style PEZ)  or Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement (New Style MD4) .
  11. Remove the sunroof window from the sunroof module assembly. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
  12. Remove the sunroof sunshade panel from the sunroof module assembly. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Panel Replacement .
