Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove any burrs or foreign material from the sealing surface of the engine cylinder head and the water outlet housing.
    2. Fig 1: View Of Water Outlet

  2. Install a NEW seal and the water outlet housing.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the water outlet housing bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the water outlet bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet housing. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement - Outlet (LM4)  or Radiator Hose Replacement - Outlet (LL8) .
  5. Install the power steering pump bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement in Power Steering System.
