Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the hood latch support to the vehicle.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Install the hood latch support bolts to the upper tie bar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the hood latch support nut to the lower tie bar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the bolts to the upper support bracket at the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Impala) or Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Monte Carlo) in Bumpers.
  6. Install the hood latch to the hood latch support. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement .
  7. Install the upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle and Deflector Replacement - Upper in Engine Cooling.
  8. Close the hood.
