Removal Procedure

NOTE: Tools Required 
  • J 33432-A Transverse Spring Compressor
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in TIRES AND WHEELS article.
  3. Measure the transverse spring stud height (1). See Figure.
    CAUTION: During this procedure, use care not to scratch rear transverse spring.
  4. Install J 33432-A to the rear transverse spring and compress the spring. See Figure.
  5. Remove the retainers, nuts, insulators and spring bolts (2) from the lower control arm. See Figure.
