Installation Procedure

  1. Position the wiper arm onto the wiper transmission.
  2. Fig 1: Wiper Blades & Windshield Blackout

  3. Align the wiper blades to the small voids in the windshield blackout (1 and 2).
  4. Apply Threadlocking compound, GM P/N 89021297 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent, to the wiper arm nut.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the wiper arm nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the wiper arm nut cover.
  8. Connect the washer hose to the wiper arm.
  9. Operate the windshield wipers and inspect for proper operation.
  10. Close the hood.
