Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the fender to the vehicle

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts to the fender at the front compartment side rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the front Fender to Engine Compartment Side Rail Bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the bolts to the fender at the rocker panel.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fender to rocker panel bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the bolts to the fender at the door hinge pillar.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fender to door hinge pillar bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the bolts to the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the Fender to Lower Engine Compartment Side Rail Bolts to 5 N.m (45 lb in).

  6. Install the washer solvent container to the right fender. Refer to Washer Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  7. Install the front fender sound insulator. Refer to Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front .
  8. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  9. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  10. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  11. Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel (Impala) or Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel (Monte Carlo) in Exterior Trim.
  12. Remove the protective tape.
  13. Install the body side molding, if required. Refer to Molding Replacement - Body Side in Exterior Trim.
