Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the slide pin is properly located into the bracket hole.
  1. Slide the pin, part of air cleaner assembly, into the bracket hole on the left strut tower.
  2. IMPORTANT: Verify full engagement of the inlet onto the resonator neck and no contact of the air cleaner to the strut tower.
  3. Position and install the air cleaner inlet over the resonator neck.
  4. Install the push in retainer from the air cleaner to the battery tray.
  5. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the relay center and the push in retainer.
  8. Connect the relay battery feed cable into the upper air cleaner cover retaining clips.
  9. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical. Connect the battery cables.
  10. Connect the air cleaner outlet duct.

    Tighten:  Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
