Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the upper door hinge. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Front Door .
  2. Install the J 36604  in order to capture as many door hinge spring coils as possible. See Special Tools .
  3. Using a hammer, tap the J 36604  in order to fully seat the J 36604  onto the door hinge spring. See Special Tools .
  4. Tighten the bolt on the J 36604  in order to fully compress the door hinge spring. See Special Tools .
  5. Remove the J 36604  and the door hinge spring from the door hinge assembly. See Special Tools .
  6. Loosen the bolt on the J 36604  . See Special Tools .
  7. Remove the door hinge spring from the J 36604  . See Special Tools .
