Knock Sensor Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure




1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 Static Fill).
2. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the knock sensor bolt.
4. Remove the knock sensor.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the knock sensor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the knock sensor bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).




3. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 Static Fill).
