DTC P0016: Description

The DTC P0016 Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation diagnostic monitors the relationship between the CKP sensor and CMP sensor. The powertrain control module (PCM) is continuously comparing the CKP sensor signal to the CMP sensor signal. The PCM can detect incorrect camshaft to crankshaft timing and analyze CMP actuator system operation with the DTC P0016 diagnostic.
