Installation Procedure

Clean the lower column shaft splines.
Ensure the upper jacket shaft splines are clean and free of debris.
Use the supplied grease to apply 2 grams (0.07 ounces) of grease to the column shaft splines.
Ensure that the steering wheel alignment notch is in the 12 o'clock position.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the jacket to the column housing.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

Install the upper column attachment bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
Install the left closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
Install the ignition lock cylinder case. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement .
Install the multifunction turn signal switch housing. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Switch Housing Replacement
Install the SIR coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement .
Install the column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Road test the vehicle to verify steering operation.
