Removal Procedure

    WARNING: The fuel system is under pressure. To avoid fuel spillage and the risk of personal injury or fire, it is necessary to relieve the fuel system pressure before disconnecting the fuel lines.
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. WARNING: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .
  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement (Hatchback) .
  5. Remove the fuel pump access cover.

  7. Disconnect the electrical connectors (2) at the fuel pump assembly.
  8. Disconnect the fuel lines (1).

  10. Remove the fuel pump lock ring by using EN-49090:  ring.
  11. Remove the fuel pump.

  13. Disconnect the insulator.

  15. Remove the fuel sender assembly (1).
