July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal Procedure

    WARNING: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
    WARNING: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .
  1. Remove the engine dress cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement for 3.6L Engines or Engine Cover Replacement for 6.0L Engines.
  2. Remove the radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement .

  4. Position the EN 46114  (1) on the cylinder head (2). See Special Tools .
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the EN 46114  to cylinder head retaining bolts (3) and tighten to 50 N. See Special Tools .m (36 lb ft).

    NOTE: When lifting the engine assembly, observe the clearance between the rear of the engine assembly and the dash panel.
  8. Install a suitable lifting tool and raise the engine assembly until the engine mount brackets (1) are clear of the engine mount retainers (2).
  9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  10. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  11. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  12. Remove the splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .
  13. Remove the front control arm. Refer to Control Arm Replacement .
  14. Remove the front castor arm. Refer to Front Lower Control Front Arm Replacement .
  15. Remove the stabilizer shaft link. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  17. Remove the steering gear to subframe retaining bolts (1).

  19. Disconnect the electrical harness retainers (1) securing the engine harness to the frame.

    NOTE: It is necessary to secure the radiator to the front end assembly, as the radiator is supported by the subframe.
    NOTE: Thread zip tie A around the front end assembly and zip tie B through the radiator and condenser mount. Insert zip tie A into the retainer of zip tie B and insert zip tie B into the retainer of zip tie A.
  21. Secure the radiator to the radiator upper mounting brackets.

  23. Install a suitable bench trolley under the frame.
  24. Lower the vehicle to the frame support table.
  25. Remove the front sub frame to front chassis rail retaining bolts (2).
  26. Carefully raise the body from the frame.
  27. Make sure when raising the body the following items are clear from the frame.
    • The brake pipes
    • The steering knuckle assembly
    • The wheel speed sensor electrical harness

  29. Remove the lower engine mount to front sub frame retaining nuts (1).

    NOTE: Nuts with micro-encapsulated thread sealant must be discarded after removal.
  31. Remove the stabliser bar insulator bracket to subframe retaining nuts (3) on both sides of the stabiliser bar (4). Repeat for the opposite side.

    Discard the nuts.

  32. Remove the stabliser bar insulator bracket (2) from the subframe (1) on both sides of the stabiliser bar.
  33. Remove the stabliser bar from the front subframe.
  34. With the aid of an assistant, remove the frame from the support fixture.
