Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution .
    CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution .
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  4. Loosen the caster arm to steering knuckle retaining nut (1) about two turns.

  6. Using J-42188-B  (1) disconnect the caster arm (1) from the steering knuckle (2). See Special Tools .

  8. Remove and discard the caster arm to steering knuckle retaining nut (3).
  9. Separate the caster arm (1) from the steering knuckle (2).

  11. Remove and discard the caster arm to subframe retaining bolt (2).
  12. Remove the offset washer (1).
  13. Remove the end plate with encapsulated retaining nut to subframe retainer (4).
  14. Remove and discard the end plate with encapsulated retaining nut (3).

  16. Remove the caster arm (1) from the subframe (2).
