Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect each spark plug gap. Adjust each plug as needed.

    Specification:  Spark plug gap: 1.524 mm (0.060 in).

  2. Hand start the spark plugs in the corresponding cylinders.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Tighten the spark plugs. Tighten the engine spark plug on a NEW cylinder head to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) and the engine spark plug on subsequent installations to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
  5. Install the spark plug wires. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Replacement .
  6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
