A/T - Controls - Delayed Downshift/Acceleration Lag

TECHNICAL

Bulletin No.: 08-07-30-036

Date: August 13, 2008

Subject:
Automatic Transmission Delayed Downshift, Lack of Acceleration, Flat Spot (Reprogram TCM)

Models:
2008-2009 Pontiac G8 GT

with 6-Speed Automatic Transmission (RPO MYC)
Built Prior to VIN Breakpoint 9L210304

Condition

Some customers may comment on delayed acceleration or lack of performance from the automatic transmission when applying throttle at low speeds. This may also be described as a flat spotting or delayed shifting at approximately 30-40 km/h (18-25 mph).

Correction

A revised transmission calibration has been developed to address these issues. Reprogram the TCM with an updated software calibration. This new service calibration is available on TIS2WEB using the Service Programming System (SPS). As always, make sure your Tech2(R) is updated with the latest software version.
