Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Torrent and 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the instrument panel left lower closeout panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

  3. Disconnect the cruise brake switch connector.

  5. Rotate the cruise brake switch counterclockwise and remove the cruise brake switch from the switch retainer.
  6. IMPORTANT: Depressing the brake pedal will allow easier access of the retainer locking tabs.
  7. Gently compress the locking tabs on the cruise brake retainer and remove the switch retainer from the brake pedal assembly.
