Theft Deterrent Exciter Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the lower instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the HVAC Module (2) to gain access to the Theft Deterrent Exciter Module (1). Refer to Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Replacement (Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Replacement).




4. Remove the Theft Deterrent Exciter Module (4).

* Disconnect the module connector (1).
* Disconnect the wire harness fastener (2).
* Remove the bolt (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the Theft Deterrent Exciter Module (4).

* Install the bolt (3).
* Connect the wire harness fastener (2).
* Connect the module connector (1).




2. Install the HVAC Module (2). Refer to Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Replacement (Air Conditioning and Heater Module Assembly Replacement).
3. Install the lower instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Install the instrument panel upper trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Perform the Key Learn Procedure. Refer to Immobilizer System Component Programming (Programming and Relearning).
