Ignition and Start Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the trim covers from the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).




3. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector (1), if equipped.




4. Remove the two screws (2),(3) and the ignition switch (1) from the ignition lock cylinder case.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ignition switch (1) and the two screws (2),(3) to the ignition lock cylinder case.
2. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector.




3. Connect the ignition switch electrical connector (1), if equipped.
4. Install the trim covers to the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement (Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling (Service and Repair).
