Hydraulic System Pressure Test

  1. Ensure fluid is at correct level. With engine idling, turn steering wheel to stop and hold for a maximum of 10 seconds. This procedure creates maximum system pressure. DO NOT hold steering wheel to stop longer than 10 seconds.
  2. Release steering wheel and check system for leaks at steering gear, reservoir, pump and all hose connections. Repeat previous procedure if necessary. Repair as necessary.
