CAUTION: DO NOT start engine with ground strap between transmission and chassis disconnected, or Digital Motor Electronics (DME) control unit will be destroyed.

Clutch assembly is a non-asbestos dry type with a rubber damped single disc and a diaphragm spring pressure plate. The clutch release mechanism is hydraulically operated by fluid received from the brake master cylinder.
