CONCERN

Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2) communication problems software version 4.0

INFORMATION

Due to a programming error in the software version 4.0 for the PST2, it is not possible to program new DME control modules of type M5.22 with version 4.0.

NOTE: This does not apply to the 911 Carrera 4 (996) model, type M7.2.

The PST2 software is in the process of being modified and the new program will be delivered as version 5.0 in the near future.

WORK AROUND

If a M5.22 DME control module must be programmed in the meantime, the 3.1 version PST2 software must be used. This will require reloading the version 3.1 into the PST2 using the 3.1 CD-ROM.

After the DME control module has been programmed, version 4.0 must be reinstalled on the PST2 to access a M 7.2 system. PST2 programming time for both operations is approximately 50 minutes.
