CONCERN

Retrofitting Off-Road Navigation Module installation instructions. Only for vehicles with PCM2 (I No. PF1) and software version as of 08/2003.

INFORMATION

Off-road navigation is an optional module for the PCM2. After installation the PCM2 must first be "enabled". After successful enabling, displayed in the "Navi" menu of the PCM2 by an additional "Off- Road" point (see Fig 1 ), the following functions are available: altitude information, wheel position display, compass display, Way Point-Navigation as well as backtracking (along a previously driven route).

After the module has been ordered through the parts department, entering of the part and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in SAP, the code for enabling will be displayed in IPAS when the VIN is entered.

NOTE: You must allow one business day for the information for SAP to be updated.

PST2/PIWIS Tester

WORK PROCEDURE

  1. Programming Off-Road Navigation.
    1. 1.1  Connect PST2/PIWIS Tester and switch on ignition.
    2. 1.2  Select vehicle type.
    3. 1.3  Check whether the VIN displayed in the PCM and the instrument cluster corresponds to that of the vehicle. If not, the VIN in the respective components are to be reprogrammed.
    4. 1.4  Perform a complete control module search.
    5. 1.5  Select "PCM 2", "PCM2 MMI", "Coding", "Enabling code for Off-Road Navigation".
    6. 1.6  Enter code.
      NOTE: The code is entered from left to right. If the character string is missing characters at the end, complete it by entering the number "zero".
    7. 1.7  Code with "F8".
    8. 1.8  Wait until "Coding has been changed" is displayed -> coding was successful.
  2. Read out fault memory, switch off ignition, disconnect PST2/PIWIS Tester.
  3. Perform function test.
