SITUATION
Radio remote control in vehicle key does not function
Increasing numbers of vehicle keys are being replaced under warranty due to the complaint "Remote control does not function".
The reason why the vehicle can no longer be opened or closed using the remote control function in the vehicle key may be that the buttons on the vehicle key have been frequently inadvertently pressed outside the radio range of the vehicle.
An analysis of the vehicle keys returned under warranty has shown that, in most cases, the radio remote control function can be restored again by performing a "Handover Procedure" and synchronizing the vehicle key with the PAS control unit.
ACTION REQUIRED
To establish the synchronization between the radio remote control in the vehicle key and the PAS control unit in the vehicle, you must synchronize the keys to the vehicle and perform a "Handover" procedure.
WORK PROCEDURE
To synchronize the vehicle key, insert the key into the ignition lock and turn the ignition on. Then press the remote button until the blinking frequency rate of the central locking switch in the dashboard changes.
Remove the vehicle key from the ignition lock and check whether the radio remote control is working.
If this procedure has resolved the situation, advise the customer accordingly.
