Removing front three-point belt
- Triggering of seat-belt pretensioner unit
→ Observe safety regulations for handling seat-belt pretensioner units.
→ Observe disposal regulations for seat-belt pretensioner units.
→ After disconnecting the battery, wait 1 minute before disconnecting the seat-belt pretensioner unit.
→ Remove ignition key and disconnect the battery. Route or insulate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided. Read and follow work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
→ If removed for an extended period, the seat-belt pretensioner unit must be stored in a safe place.
→ Transport the seat-belt pretensioner unit in such a way that the seat belt can retract safely if it is actuated.
- The seat belt must be replaced.
→ Only bend the spring plate up as far as required to allow you to push the seat belt mount off the mounting pin.
→ The spring plate must be touching the mounting pin during installation with preload.

- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle or a similar component .
- Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well .
- Remove seat belt mount.
- 1.1. Disengage cap -1-
and slide it over the seat belt mount -2-

- 1.2. Release retaining clip -3-
on the seat belt mount using a suitable screwdriver -arrow A-
.
- 1.3. Push seat belt mount over the retaining pin -arrow B- until the lug under the retaining pin loosens the clip.
- 1.4. Remove seat belt mount from the retaining pin.
- 1.1. Disengage cap -1-
and slide it over the seat belt mount -2-

- Unscrew fastening screw -1-
on the top belt fitting and remove it -A-
.
- Unscrew fastening screw -1-
for the belt guide -2-
from the B-pillar.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection (RoW) -1-
from seat-belt pretensioner.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connections (USA) -1 and 2-
from seat-belt pretensioner. Unclip line from fixing clip.
- Loosen fastening screw -1- and remove seat-belt pretensioner -2 - in an upward direction.
