Initializing And Calibrating Steering-Angle Sensor

Information 

The steering-angle sensor must be calibrated using the menu options in > 9818 - PIWIS Tester II  under the specified test conditions:

  1. The chassis is adjusted according to Porsche specifications.
  2. Switch on ignition.
  3. Turn wheels to straight-ahead position (steering wheel in centre position).
  4. Turn the steering wheel out of the straight-ahead position (approx. 6° to the left/right) in accordance with the instructions on PIWIS Tester II. Turn the wheels back to the straight-ahead position and follow the instructions on PIWIS Tester II.
  5. Using PIWIS Tester II, select >>Steering wheel electronics<< >>Maintenance/repairs<<>>Calibrate steering-angle sensor<< in the control unit overview.

    After successful calibration, the stored fault code is erased from the fault memory. The PSM indicator light in the instrument cluster goes out.
