Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then disconnect wiring from solenoid.
2. Remove bracket at rear of starter, the three starter mounting bolts and the starter, noting position of locating dowel.
3. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring that locating dowel is centered in hole of appropriate mounting bolt. The three mounting bolts must be tightened before tightening bracket.




1. Disconnect battery ground cable and disconnect wiring at starter solenoid.
2. Remove 3 starter mounting bolts and the starter motor, noting installation position of locating dowel.
3. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring that locating dowel is centered in hole of appropriate mounting bolt.
