Positive Rectifier Diode

  1. Using an ohmmeter or a self-powered test light (40-volt maximum), check resistance or continuity between diode terminal "B+" and stator contacts, one at a time. Test light should glow or ohmmeter should read a low resistance when positive terminal of test light or ohmmeter is connected to terminal "D-". See Figure.
  2. Reverse ohmmeter or test light connections, test light should not glow or ohmmeter should give a high resistance reading. Replace diode is assembly if defective.
