Coolant Temperature Sensor

Turn ignition off. Unplug sensor connector. Sensor is threaded into intake manifold. Measure resistance between sensor terminals. Replace sensor if resistance is not as specified in ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table.

WARNING: To prevent engine from starting when checking Hall Effect sensor, disable ignition by disconnecting coil primary wires on 900 Series, or by unplugging connector to ignition cartridge on 9000 Series. DO NOT  rotate engine more than necessary to check Hall Effect sensor.
