Mass Airflow Meter
This sensor is of the hot wire type. For increased accuracy, filament wire temperature has been increased to 310°F (155°C). The mass airflow meter is located between the air cleaner and throttle body. After the engine is shut off, the fuel injection ECM sends a signal to heat the sensor filament for 4 seconds to burn off any deposits, provided engine speed has been greater than 2000 RPM. 9000 Series Turbo does not use this sensor.
