To remove

  1. Remove Selector lever housing.
    IMPORTANT: When working on a dismantled selector lever housing, the selector lever should be protected with foam rubber or the like.
  2. Remove Selector lever casing.
  3. Cut the cable tie holding the lead for the lighting button in place.
  4. Cut the cable tie securing the lead to the electromagnet (cars with shift-lock).
  5. Tap out the cable of the electromagnet from the connector, pins 5 and 6 (cars with Shift-lock). Use 85 80 151 Kit, removing tool, connector pins.

    Remove the gear position indicator display. Remove the screws securing the ignition switch.

  6. Drill out the rivets.
  7. Dismantle the selector lever housing.
  8. Remove the selector lever retaining bolt.
  9. Remove the selector lever with holder from the base plate.

  11. Remove the lock washer and tap out the spacer sleeve.
  12. Detach the selector lever from the holder.
