Catalytic Converter And Intermediate Pipe Heat Shields: Installation

  1. Position the heat shields in place.
    NOTE: Install the circled rivets shown first to align the shield. The shields also overlap and share some common rivets.

  2. Install heat shield rivets.
  3. Install catalytic converter to intermediate pipe gasket.
  4. Install three intermediate pipe to catalytic converter nuts.

    Torque: 

    Intermediate Pipe-to-Converter Nuts: 25 N.m (19 ft-lbs) 

  5. Check exhaust system for leaks.
