Accelerator Pedal, Shaft And Bracket Assembly: Installation

  1. Install accelerator pedal assembly to the steering column support bracket using a new, prevailing torque nut.

    Torque: 

    Accelerator Pedal Assembly-to-Support Bracket Nut: 8 N.m (70 in-lbs) 

  2. Attach accelerator control cable to the accelerator pedal. Attach cruise control rod to accelerator pedal assembly when applicable. The cruise control rod will require adjustment. Refer to CRUISE CONTROL ROD ADJUSTMENT - VISUAL METHOD in CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM.
  3. Check accelerator control assembly for binding.
