Strut Assembly: Disassembly
- Mount Strut Spring Compressor (SA9155S) in holding fixture, and place strut assembly into spring compressor. Secure strut assembly to spring compressor using strut-to-knuckle bolt. Compress spring enough to unload upper spring supports. While holding strut shaft with a No. 50 Torx bit, remove strut shaft nut.
- Release spring compressor, and tilt strut assembly outward. Remove upper spring support and rubber boot. Remove spring and dust shield assembly.
WARNING:
Strut spring is under extreme pressure. Do not remove strut shaft nut without first compressing strut spring.
