July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Draining & Refilling

WARNING: Ensure vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned on hoist. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which components are being removed.
NOTE: To ensure all sediment within the transaxle is suspended in the fluid, the fluid should only be drained after it has reached a normal operating temperature of 190-200°F (88-93°C). Normal operating temperature is reached after approximately 15 miles of highway driving.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove transaxle drain plug. See Fig 1 . Drain fluid with engine off. Allow at least 5 minutes for fluid to drain completely.
  2. NOTE: Clean drain plug and lubricate with clean fluid. Wipe off excess fluid and install.
  3. Install drain plug and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower vehicle and fill transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  and CHECKING FLUID LEVELS  .
