Ignition Module/PASSLOCK Sensor: Installation

  1. Connect ignition switch, PASSLOCK sensor, and park lock cable to ignition module. Tighten ignition switch to 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs). See Figure and Figure .
  2. Install ignition module to steering column. Module lock bolt must align with slot in steering column. Tighten ignition module to 8 N.m (71 in-lbs).

    NOTE: Actuator blade within ignition module housing must be in the RUN position to install lock cylinder assembly. If rotated, replace it to the RUN position using needle-nose pliers.
  3. Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and install into ignition module. See Figure.
  4. Install steering column upper and lower shrouds and shroud fasteners. See Figure.
  5. Install lock cylinder bezel.
  6. Connect negative battery cable.
  7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
