Fuel System Pressure Release

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
- Remove the cap from the fuel pressure service port.
- Connect Gauge Bar Set (SA9127E) or Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A), or equivalent, to the fuel pressure connection, located on the fuel rail. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
- Place the bleed hose of the gauge bar set or fuel pressure gauge into an approved fuel container.
- Open the valve to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
- Disconnect the gauge bar set or fuel pressure gauge from the fuel pressure connection.
