Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Pontiac G5 Pursuit, 2007 Pontiac G5, and 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the Stop Lamp/TCC Switch.
  2. Ignition ON, test for greater than 10 volts between the ignition 1 voltage circuit terminal A and ground.
    • If less than the specified voltage, test the voltage circuit for an open/high resistance, or a short to ground.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the Stop Lamp/TCC Switch. Disconnect the harness connector C1 at the ECM.
  4. Test for 10 volts between the TCC Brake Switch/Cruise Control Release Signal circuit and ground.
    • If less than the specified voltage, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance, or a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the Stop Lamp/TCC Switch.
    • If at or greater than the specified voltage, replace the ECM.
