Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. NOTE: Do not free the ball stud by using a pickle fork or a wedge-type tool. Damage to the seal or bushing may result.
  4. Remove the ball stud to steering knuckle pinch bolt and nut.

  6. Separate the ball stud from the steering knuckle.
  7. Remove the rear frame bolt.
  8. Remove the control arm to frame bolts.

  10. Remove the control arm from the frame.
